I like to think I’m a feminist. Women are rad! And, sadly, put into a society that kinda loves to blame women for all of society (and their own) problems, from Eve to Marie freakin’ Curie. If some poor lass gets teen pregnant, it’s her fault – and never the fault of the guy. If a girl gets raped, well maybe she shouldn’t be dressing so slutty. It’s never the man’s fault, oh no — women are always to blame.
Which is why the ugly, concentrated misogyny in Fat Ugly or Slutty is so disheartening. FUoS shows the sickening, angry and abusive side of online gaming that gamer gals get thrown into everyday just by enjoying their hobby. Rape threats, offers for sex and specific gendered insults (re: calling any woman a whore) should obviously be not fucking cool. Even if you are trash talking. Yet, the angry neckbeard collective that is the Internet (and this isn’t an insult to those with neck-based hair; you can still be a smooth-shaven 12-year-old and still be a neckbeard) hanging out in their little palaces of brodom seem to think that it’s totally okay to insult chicks yo.
Even if it is just a bunch of idiot 14-year-olds whose nuts haven’t dropped down into the sac, shit like this is not fucking cool. That needs to be a refrain from guys AND girls out there. Alternatively, girls should do this to even the odds (embedding disabled BOO).

I have to agree that guy’s don’t behave decent when they find out a gamer is a girl, which always raises one question to me “what the hells wrong with them?” whats the difference man/woman? frankly speaking the gender i suppose but that isn’t an excuse to insult someone for nothing there just people like us, and are trying to have fun. yeah i am a guy but i still don’t get it i have seen my fare share of female gamers for the past 10 years or so i have been playing MMO’s and to tell you the truth there no different than us there playing for the same goal’s we do relax/enjoy the game/have fun its no different , and whats the point on starting to trash talk a person when you find out she’s a girl i don’t really see it its just meaningless she’s just another person trying to have fun thats all, i have only one thing to say keep it up have fun and just ignore the jerk’s just keep doing what you enjoy without anyone telling you what to do.
